Our beautiful mare, Bitter Consent, affectionately known as BC, was humanely euthanized Saturday, January 26, 2008. She had fractured a molar(#210), and was fighting a severe infection from it. When sent for surgery, it was decided, after evaluation and much heartbreaking discussion, to euthanize her rather than to operate due to the very slim odds of success and the potential for a long painful period if surgery was attempted.
BC was born in 1989 and came to us after trying her talents on the racetrack and as a broodmare. She has been a great Pony Club mount, playing polocrosse, and going to Pony Club Nationals 3 times, once being on the winning tean in Intermediate. She also played in the American Polocrosse Association, helping to win in B and C grade, and MVP as a number 2 horse. We retired her 1 year ago and she has been a wonderful companion to a 30 year old gelding since then.
We are grateful for the years of fun and companionship that BC shared with us.
